Cannabis Iced Tea

Sitting back on a hot summer day sipping iced tea is one of the most refreshing and relaxing parts of summer. Iced tea is a summer staple and it could be made even better with cannabis. Cannabis iced tea is rapidly becoming popular with the legalization of edibles but in fact, cannabis tea has been used for thousands of years. There are a multitude of ways to make cannabis iced tea but the method you use is determined by the effects you want. Whether you’re looking to experience the psychoactive effects from THC or take advantage of the many nutritional benefits of cannabis leaves, cannabis iced tea is a perfect addition to your summer.

  1. Activated Iced Tea

  2. Fresh Leaf Tea

Activated Iced Tea

That isn’t a technical term for cannabis iced tea, it’s simply a term to describe the iced teas that are made from activated cannabis, that is to say, decarboxylated cannabis. If you’re wanting to get the medicinal benefits or the psychoactive benefits of cannabis, then you’re going to want to decarb your cannabis. There are a lot of different recipes available for making cannabis iced tea. You can add decarbed flower to water for a mild THC experience, as THC is not water-soluble and it’s not likely going to get you high but it will have CBD and is a pleasant, relaxing tea. You can add a cannabis tincture to your iced tea as well. My personal favorite option though, is to infuse honey with decarbed cannabis. Infuse some delicious honey and you can use the honey to sweeten your tea to create a delicious, sweet iced tea that’s going to give you all the benefits of THC while also providing you with a wonderfully refreshing drink.

Fresh Leaves

Did you know that raw cannabis can still trigger the body’s cannabinoid system and trigger the release of antioxidants? Raw cannabis is arguably right up there with other superfoods like kale and spinach. It is packed full of nutritional goodness that not only provides the traditional benefits but is also rich in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. If you’re growing cannabis this season, while you’re tending to your plants, pick off a few leaves to make some tea! Add the fresh leaves to green tea or better yet, mix them with hibiscus and rosehips to add a delicious earthy flavor to the sweet, fruity flavors. Boil water and pour over the mixture, allow it to steep for fifteen minutes and then cool and yum yum yum, you’ve got a wonderful iced tea that’s also beneficial for your health.

Don’t miss out on some of the fantastic ways to incorporate cannabis into your diet this summer by making cannabis infused iced tea. It’s a simple way to spice up a summer staple while reaping the benefits of this powerful medicine.
